Great-grandmother Millie Norris, affectionately known as the Queen of the French River, celebrated her 90th birthday here surrounded by family and friends. The family's beautiful mahogany launch, Flora, once rested in the extra-long boathouse until an engine fire and an unfortunate misunderstanding ended her story. Even today, the current owner smiles when recalling water skiing behind the Chief Commanda as it crossed Lake Nipissing delivering guests to the lodges.
